HMD: I'll have the mods create one for me, for all my characters.

Notes: With no expectations for anyone to app Tiffa, I'll leave her in moderator hands. She does come and go, so I won't ask anyone to play a character that can spend weeks or months at a time without playing her.

Background:
Some fifteen or so years ago, two fairly large factions went to war with one another, the Space Revolutionary Army, and the United Nations of Earth. While the two groups had fought, the SRA fighting for their independence from Earth, other issues around the world were cropping up. During what could've been their most decisive battle, things on Earth were falling apart as aliens and monsters a-plenty had begun to onslaught the Earth. While the United Nations of Earth had to pull back to defend the planet, as well as many other factions, the SRA pulled out on their own into space. Both factions fell into obscurity for quite some time.

But now we come to Garrod himself, he's the son of a technician from the UNE, who was unfortunately killed during the war with the SRA. His father's had talents passed on to Garrod, which he discovered while being raised along by his mother. Unfortunately, she too was killed, by mobile-suit using bandits raiding his hometown. Left on his own, he put those skills to use, selling his ability to anyone who might need a mobile suit or other goods stolen away. He supported himself fairly well on his odd jobs.

Though Garrod didn't mind a bit of shady work here and there, he still had a conscious, which is what led him to Tiffa. Taking a job from a regular client, he needed to retrieve the girl from some old, haggard, evil Vulture of a man. While Garrod easily sneaks aboard the Freeden, steals some "treasure" and makes off with Tiffa, who goes with him willingly, it's only the start of things...

Original canon background: n/a

Personality: Garrod is a loner, thief, and all about the money.

Well, at least right off the bat. Having only been by himself for the longest, he only worried about number one until a job put him into meeting Tiffa Adil. Upon meeting her, he starts changing, rather drastically from being the solo-artist he once was.

With her around, you start to see that he puts her before himself, and gradually shifts from only thinking about himself, to thinking about others, as well as the world at large. Though his team-playing skills are something to be desired, they greatly improve the more he works with Tiffa and those protecting her. Before long, he becomes a valuable, and well-rounded asset to most team operations.

Much of what drives Garrod to stay beside Tiffa (besides having obviously fallen for her) is to protect her from those that are just trying to abuse her for her NewType powers. He doesn't stand for her mistreatment at all, much less the use of others just for 'their abilities', seen when he runs into Cyber NewTypes like Caris, or even something as "premitive" as a NewType dolphin. So long as it's within his ability, he goes all out to protect others, just as well going into battle unprepared and out gunned because he's in a hurry to act.

Outside of Gundam and Tiffa related affairs, Garrod is kind of a goofy kid. He's cheerful the majority of the time, though he has the occassional issue with words with others. Having been doing things on his own for a while, he sometimes doesn't say the right thing. He has a hard time dealing with criticism as well, and would just as soon run away rather than properly man up and face what's being said. Eventually he works past this, but it always takes time to forge a boy into a man.

Capabilties and Resources: Garrod has no exceptional abilities or resources that make him any more special than your average teen hero who pilots a Gundam.

Type: Combatant

Unit Name: GX-9900 "Gundam X"
Unit Description: The titular 'Gundam' of the series, and is quite well-rounded in all aspects. The Gundam comes standard with 4 torso vulcans, a pair of beam swords (stored over the shoulder), a Shield Buster Rifle (a beam rifle that functions as not just a gun, but partially as a shield), and the Satellite Laser Canon; the end-all of many Gundam armaments. The catch to using the Satellite Canon is that there MUST be a clean line of sight from the Lunar Microwave station to the Gundam itself, meaning that it's useless during the day. As well, any manner of interruption during the charging and firing sequence means the Canon won't be able to fire. The other important catch here is the Flash system that requires a NewType to activate. For the most part, this is Tiffa's job to ask for the connection.
Size: M
Terrain compatibility:
Air: Jumping
Ground: Yes
Water: Yes
Space: Yes
Favored terrain: Ground

Upgrades: GX-9900-DV "Gundam X Divider"
Unit Description: Still the same Gundam! With all the firepower flaws of the Satellite canon, as well as encountering many a new terrain, this upgrade/series of bolt-ons solves many of those issues. The "Divider" shield has large thrusters mounted on it, allowing for greater thrust, and hovering when mounted on the Gundam's back. As well, the shield can expand to reveal a set of 6 beam canons, which are still fairly effective under water. To replace the Shield Buster (a beam based weapon), the Beam Machine gun has a higher rate of fire and can fire charged shots. As well, a Hyper Bazooka and a X-Grenadier were developed for this, the latter used for anti-ship grenades.
Size: M
Terrain compatibility:
Air: Hovering
Ground: Yes, and even snow!
Water: Yes, improved.
Space: Yes
Favored terrain: Ground

Upgrades: GX-9901 "Gundam Double X"
Unit Description: Our titular "Mid-season Upgrade". The Gundam XX uses the same Microwave and Flash system as the X, however the Flash system uses Jamil's old data, meaning we can fore go the NewType link to the Microwave station and Garrod can pretty much use it freely. The Gundam itself is equipped with many, larger reflector panels to increase the charge time of the Microwave laser, and a pair of Satellite Canons, rather than the X's single. It also wields a Buster Rifle, a pair of Hyper Beam swords at the hip, that are rather well designed for throwing, and a shield plate on the arm. As well, it houses vulcans in the head and machine canons in the chest.
Size: M
Terrain compatibility:
Air: Jumping
Ground: Yes
Water: Yes
Space: Yes
Favored terrain: Ground

Upgrades: GX-9901 + GS-9900 "Gundam Double X + G-Falcon"
Unit Description: Because of it's similarity to the Gundam X, the Double X is capable of docking with the G-Falcon, seemingly the last of a series that was designed to dock with the X-universe Gundams (including the Air Master and Leopard). While this blocks use of many of it's weapons and arms, it can utilize the G-Falcon's vulcans, infrared homing missiles, and beam scatter guns. The biggest improvement for the DX is that it can use the G-Falcon's generators to fire the Twin Satellite canon as regular beam canon AND increase the charge time of the Twin Satellite canon without the microwave station.
Size: M+ ?
Terrain compatibility:
Air: Flight
Ground: Yes
Water: Yes
Space: Yes
Favored terrain: Air

Wingmen: GS-9900 "G-Falcon", piloted by Paula Cis.
Paula is a perky girl about Garrod's age that was part of a faction opposing the SRA and their attempted tyranny in space. Having already lost one home to them she fights against them. After having Satellicon destroyed by the SRA, she joins up with Garrod permanently with her G-Falcom.
The G-Falcon is a support craft designed to combine with certain Gundam-types (X, Double X, Airmaster, and Leopard). On it's own, it has scattering beam canons, vulcan guns, and 2 infrared homing missile launchers (each able to fire 10 missiles a piece). When docked, it decreases the Double X's charge time for it's Satellite canon.

RMSN-008 "Vertigo" piloted by Carris Nautilus
Carris is a BOY (despite appearances) befriended by Garrod after learning he was used for his Cyber-Newtype ability. After a change of heart, then a rescue, Carris sticks around Fort Severin to help restore it to order, only to later join up with Garrod to bring and bring the war between NUNE and SRA to an end. Knowing that Tiffa and Garrod are pivotal to the effort, he puts his efforts into protecting them.
The Vertigo is a NewType use mobile suit, however, Carris doesn't utilize it's bit weapons very often. The Veritgo houses 12 beam-type bit weapons, two beam rifles built into the arms, a pair of beam sabers, and machine canons build into the chest. It also possesses a flight configuration that allows it unlimited flight on Earth, and higher speeds in space; this mode makes it appear as if it no longer has arms, but wings instead.

(clearly not all of these at once are possible, and will change based upon pick-ups)

Mission requirement: Yes.
Suggested Event List:
Goodnight, Moon. (Is the Moon out?): During off screen events, Garrod is hired to 'steal back' Tiffa from Jamil and the Freeden. However, upon returning her, he realizes his employer is the bad guy, scampers off with her and steals a Gundam (the Gundam X). Both the Freeden and a large group of Vultures and thugs in Mobile Suits hunt him down. It's a huge brawl for broken parts and a girl, that ends in the inaugural firing of the Satellite Canon.
Unfortunately, Tiffa goes catatonic over all the death, and Garrod is captured by Jamil and taken aboard the Freeden. He (and the PC's) get a brief briefing on what just happen.

Tiffa is Kidnapped, Part I (The Operation Time is Critical) : Tiffa Adill, still recovering from the freak out involved with the first firing of the satellite canon is taken captive. One of the Frost Brothers, Olba, sneaks into the team's ranks as an ally, and during another battle with something else, snatches up Tiffa's bed with his Gundam Ashtaron and takes off. To cover his escape is his brother Shagia, and the Gundam Virsago. Ultimately, they get away since they've got a human hostage.

Tiffa is Rescued, Part I (You Pull The Trigger): It doesn't take long to figure out that Tiffa, Shagia, and Olba are all at the same facility to do 'experimentations' on NewTypes, and with Tiffa one of the few so easily attained, she's been taken there to study, hopefully not dissect! However, Shagia and Olba (thanks to Olba's prior infiltration) know just about how the team works and can already prepare for how they come in and attack, supported by an enormous mobile armor that fires, long range, from the safety of the facility. While battling back the Frosts, Garrod is supported by Jamil, who is supported by Tiffa to aim and fire the Satellite Canon and wipe out not just the MA, but most of the facility, without endangering Tiffa herself. How skilled! Eventually the Frosts flee to fight another day.

Tiffa is Kidnapped, Part II (I am a Newtype/Just Run Without Thinking/It's My Best Work): Tiffa picks up on a particular Newtype (more along the kinds that she is, rather than the noticeably different UC-types). Located at the icy Fort Severin, the crew is attacked. Tiffa urges Garrod not to go out, but, be damned if he won't just stand around, even in the icy climate. Already Garrod gets off to a bad start with the terrain alone. However soon, a new enemy suit shows up to steal Tiffa, and it's the Newtype she'd picked up on before. Garod is pretty rightly owned, and pressure is put on Tiffa to let Garrod die, or surrender herself. Meanwhile Garrod sits in his cockpit lamenting his inability to do anything since he lacks super awesome psychic power. To make matters worse, the Frost Bros show up and start harassing everyone in favor of getting Tiffa for themselves. But in the middle of him feeling sorry for himself, the Divider gear is launched out to him. After new gear and a lil pep talk, the Frosts are driven off, with Shagia taking the brunt of the damage, but it's much too late for Tiffa, who's taken in exchange for Garrod not being shivved with a beam saber. Afterword, Garrod becomes heavily preoccupied with practicing against the bit-type weapon the Newtype used.

Tiffa is Rescued, Part II (I'm a Fool, Shoot Me): After his stint with training against Newtype weapons, Garrod bounces on his own, going for Tiffa right inside Fort Severin. There he confronts a woman obsessed with seeing him dead (Enil El), Tiffa, and the Newtype guy that defeated him before, Carris Nautilius, as well as some info swag such as this Newtype being a Cyber Newtype, totally manmade and used just as a forefront to mass producing Cyber's. Olba Frost, in the meantime attacks the Freeden (with Jamil in the cockpit of the GX in Garrod's absence). Garrod hoofs it back to the Freeden mid-battle with Carris in pursuit. Olba withdraws randomly, while Caris has a Synapse Syndrome fit and retreats as well temporarily. He's quickly back though and comes back to ravage Garrod now that he's in the GX. This time around, he starts shooting down Bits, leaving Caris struggling, to which he, again, retreats. (This part can likely be condensed into part log and the rest combat, particularly the battle against the Patouria).
BUT AGAIN, Carris returns, this time not so 'normal' or even reasonable. Now piloting the Newtype Mobile Armor Patouria, it's a duel to get through to him verbally, emotionally, and blow the fuck out of the mobile armor. After much yelling, Garrod gets through to Carris, but then we just discover the Patouria's also on remote control. In order to save the day, Tiffa starts giving orders and speaking with Caris herself. Finally the Patouria is breached, Carris rescued, and some nut from ye old Federation days killed along with the sinking MA.

Important Jamil Plot! (The Sea of Lorelei): This mission is far more pivotal if we have an active Jamil; if not, I don't mind skipping. Especially since Jamil is piloting the GX here.
While crossing the sea, there's another run-in with the Frost Brothers, who've surfaced an old, military container. Inside is a 'secret NewType weapon', which was found while looking for something else. Of course with the Freeden/Unity group nearby, the crew helping the Frosts go ahead and attack anyway. Given the enemy is very adept in undersea combat, and have tons of large torpedoes to send away. During the fight, Tiffa makes a connection to the 'NewType weapon' which shuts down all electronics, including the horde of torpedoes incoming. The battle halts for a bit, but thanks to the Frost's hunting and rolling with generally bad dudes, they get some reinforcements from above.
Turns out that the 'NewType weapon' is Jamil's old friend/commander Lucille, who's locked in stasis just for the purpose of being a new weapon. However, she still has her mind, and NewType powers about her, and with Jamil's help, they use the Flash System to activate something the Frosts were toting about; G-Bits. After wrecking shop with them, Jamil is asked to destroy them all, and effectively release her mind from it's duties.

Time to up the Rating (The Ghost From 15 Years Ago/My Dream Is Real/Double X, Activate!):
The Freeden crew have been trying to head to an island called Zondar Epta, which they saw a charge from the Lunar Microwave station fire down to. Finally they encroach upon it, only to find it heavily guarded. As the crew approach they find themselves target of a new Satellite Canon. Old Federation officials demand Jamil's surrender, or they fire the canon. Jamil willingly surrenders, but during the exchange, the Frosts take Tiffa as well (god damnit, just how do they keep snatching her up!). They take off with all the (X series) Gundams, Tiffa, and Jamil, but, as if we'd just let that sit and happen. With Garrod on foot trying to perform rescue ops, everyone else runs interference against the Frosts.
(This isn't particularly via the show, but more through events recalled in Alpha gaiden and Z). On the inside, Garrod (Witz, Roybea, Kid, the Freeden crew basically) are dealing with troops with guns while Garrod makes for a mad dash for the DX stored within the base. (Elsewhere the Freeden Gundams are being towed off the island, we'll recover them later.) Internally everyone manages to work together (even Tiffa) to get the Double X hijacked and deployed. After carrying everyone off the island and to safety, Garrod unloads the first shot from the DX's Twin Satellite Canon on the island; displaying it's utterly destructive force by wiping it off the map!
Afterward, parts of various old military factions form the New United Nations of Earth. (or not, whichever is honestly more convenient for the RP and other canons included).

Tiffa got snatched up pt 3 (I May Never See You Again): Garrod and party arrive at a NewType research facility (which Jamil is more interested in than anything.) While Jamil is off the ship conversing with their head researcher, he's held up, and during that, the Frosts lead a large NUNE force to attack. During THAT attack, someone from the research facility sneaks on, kidnaps Tiffa and sends her on a one-way trip to a colony where the Space Rebellion forces (or, I dunno, some offshoot of Zeon, because similarities) are based out of. Garrod isn't having this so he head to space on his own, leaving the Freeden behind (since it can't fly anyway). (In this case, if the group isn't already going up for space activities, Garrod will leave the party to do things on his own)

Space Kita! (Fly, Garrod) (this is likely skippable given what's known about the setting, but only important mostly to Jamil getting an upgrade to the Freeden II ON screen, otherwise it can be done off screen.) While trying to send of Garrod to space, the Space Rebellion forces attack the Federation installation being used to send Garrod and the DX space-ward. In the process of defending the base and the shuttle, Jamil orders the Freeden to ram the enemy battleship with their mega particle canons in order to allow take off. Afterward and over time, they take a new ship and upgrade it to the Freeden II. Depending on the on-screen split, we'll see them later or see to helping it happen.

More off screen antics? (That's the G-Falcon!) (Again, if Garrod went solo, totally off screen, or however you wish to make it work. I'm flexible). Just as Garrod is about to make it into the same colony as Tiffa (known as Cloud Nine), command contacts the ship to have it go elsewhere. Not about to miss his shot at Tiffa, Garrod hijacks the ship long enough to get directions and bail out with the DX. OF course, armed forces attack and he ends up fighting a whole battalion of new space mobile suits solo (of course, he doesn't space combat either, but he picks up quick!). While the mooks are easy enough once he figures out space flight, the C.O. Lancerow Duwell. But before Garrod is totally wiped out, Paula Cis in the G-Falcon swoops in and plucks him out of danger.
(How Do You Know Me)A few more scuffles occur while Garrod is trying to safe Tiffa, such as the one where the Space Revolutionary army attacks Sattlicon; the faction that had saved Garrod, and promptly blows it out of the sky. (Unrelated, it happens to look exactly like Axis.) During this fight Garrod has another talk with Lancerow, who seems to know Jamil.
(I Can See The Moon) There's also dealing with the Colony Laser, wherein Garrod and Paula simultaneously disable the Colony Laser and rescue Tiffa. The first shot from the Satellite Canon is a warning, the second a threat to retrieve Tiffa, and the third wipes it out! After this, though, the 3 kids return to Earth with the G-Falcon alone... except no, they're caught by the NUNE. And during that interrogation they hear about a thing called DOME; some kind of lunar station with all sorts of secrets on NewTypes. Finally though they all come back together, one way or another.

A War for DOME (Freeden, Launch!/I Am Dome. People Once Called Me A NewType/The Moon Will Always Be There): With much thanks to the Frosts manipulating the leader of the NUNE, finally a war is about to break out between NUNE and the SRA, with both parties heading to dominate DOME and gain the advantage. The Freeden II and party head up for DOME as well, so the good guys can meet with it peacefully and find out what it is. Garrod uses the microwave charge to open a path down the middle and make a straight shot for DOME. After some fighting with the NUNE and SRA, and the Frost Bros, who get to explain why they started a war anyway (because they were ignored for their powers that didn't work with the Flash System, unlike NewTypes whom it did work for). Jamil and Garrod nearly eat it on the way only to be saved by Lancerow (told you he was important!).
Approaching DOME, Garrod is allowed in even with an escort! Tiffa calls for specific others to be lead as well (all the goodies, and the leaders of NUNE and SRA. as well as Lancerow). On DOME is the mind of the "first Newtype" turned into a supercomputer (which gets confusing if we have an Amuro, because isn't he...?). While the two Leaders argue, Jamil interrupts and makes his argument that NewTypes are neither gods, nor something to be used for war. Tiffa calls out to DOME, which activates and speaks it's mind (heh heh). Basically everyone has a different view of what a NewType is, and that's what has caused the conflict over it. DOME, upon it's original birth may as well have just been a human mutation, but because of the desire for more from people who's lost their way, they clung to it as a new set of values. Basically the X-verse of NewTypes isn't anything, even those who have 'NewType' power were merely disillusioned by it. With all that cleared up CLEARLY we can just throw away the word 'NewType' as there's no such thing ever anyway. (At least, according to DOME, but only a handful of people even heard that soooo...) Also Jamil takes his shades off.
While dialogs go on, the Frosts just wreck everyone anyway. And both factions, thanks to the Frosts, are still fighting. As well, they send an infiltration team to switch the microwave system from auto to manual, allowing them to use their own microwave-fueled launcher. Thinking one side tricked the other, the NUNE and SRA think they were betrayed but instead get swept by a shot from the Frosts's Satellite Launcher.
However the Frosts are determined to colony drop using their Satellite Launcher. However, good ol Garrod takes the charge beam for himself and pulls the trigger on the Frosts instead. The two beams collide, but the DX's wins out. The blast takes out DOME as well as the Frosts. That battle ends, but it's not as though there's just magical peace. But we're on our way damnit!
